As New Jersey residents may be aware, a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the estate representing Bobbi Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston, against Nick Gordon, the boyfriend she was living with at the time of her death. The lawsuit alleges that Gordon bears responsibility for the young woman’s death in July.
Criminal charges were never filed against Gordon in the death of Brown, who was discovered in a bathtub in late January and remained in a coma until her death. According to the wrongful death lawsuit, Gordon and Brown had an argument after he returned home in the early hours of Jan. 31. The lawsuit contends that the couple argued before Gordon beat Brown and gave her a drink that rendered her unconscious. Afterward, he reportedly placed her in the tub of water facedown. The lawsuit is seeking $10 million in compensation as a result of that action.
The lawsuit further contends that Gordon routinely transferred large amounts of money from Brown’s bank account into his own without her knowledge or permission and placed cameras in the house to listen to her conversations and watch her. In addition, there were allegations of physical abuse against her. Reportedly, Brown had bruises that were discovered at the hospital after the incident. However, Gordon alleges the bruises were caused by his attempt to administer CPR.
