Traumatic Brain Injury Representation In Ocean County

Even if you don’t hit your head during an accident, it is possible to end up with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Sometimes these injuries only become noticeable later on because the damage takes longer to manifest after the accident. You may notice strange symptoms popping up or feel differently than you felt before the accident. These symptoms may be noticed more by your family, friends and co-workers than by you.

The Ocean County TBI lawyers of Fedele & Honschke have dealt with many of these cases in the past and know how to identify them. We also know some of the best doctors and hospitals in New Jersey that deal with head trauma, and we can help you connect with them.

If you or a loved one has been in an accident and suffered head trauma of any kind, contact Fedele & Honschke at 888-898-1206 for a free consultation.

Understanding Different Types of Brain Injuries

Common forms of traumatic brain and chronic pain injuries are:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): When you have been in a life or death situation, you can experience flashbacks, have disturbing dreams, have anxiety attacks, be hypersensitive to noises and movements, experience headaches, dizziness, fainting, feel your heart beat in your chest, or have unexplained outbursts of anger.
  • Complex regional pain syndrome (formerly known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy or RSD): Also called “ghost limb syndrome,” it occurs when a relatively mild injury is causing severe pain in a patient because the brain is firing off incorrect messages to the area. Mottled skin, a lowered temperature and loss of hair on the injured area are all typical indicators.
  • Fibromyalgia: A deep ache or burning, shooting pain that causes sleeplessness and may or may not ebb during the day, depending on the patient.
  • Mild traumatic brain injuries: Caused when your brain takes the strain of sudden deceleration even though your head never hit anything upon impact. These can affect mental and emotional function as well as cause sleep problems, headaches and dizziness.

Typically, insurance companies don’t want to pay for these expenses. Our Brick attorneys have worked for insurance carriers in the past. Because they know the claims process, this gives them insight into how to present your case for the best possible resolution.
